You will get an overview about the usage of connecting Ansys optiSLang® process integration and design optimization software and Ansys LS-DYNA® nonlinear dynamics structural simulation software in Ansys Workbench™ simulation integration platform. For this application we will use a mass which falls onto an Impact Damper. Moreover, a Sensitivity Analysis of this Impact Damper will be conducted.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this tutorial, you will be able to:

  • Automatize Ansys Workbench project with Ansys LS-DYNA system in the Ansys optiSLang application applying the Solver Wizard.
  • Use Signal Processing to derive scalar Responses.
  • Apply the Sensitivity Wizard.
  • Understand Information of the Postprocessing for Sensitivity.

Prerequisites:

  • Basic knowledge about Ansys optiSLang software is recommended which can be obtained by completing the Ansys optiSLang Getting Started course. Besides Ansys optiSLang software, you should be familiar with Ansys LS-DYNA software and Ansys Mechanical™ structural finite element analysis software.

Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2026 R1 release.
