This course will help you understand how to simulate and capture bulk evaporation of water under the influence of a localized wall heat flux using Ansys Fluent® fluid simulation software. The resulting vapor plume flow exhibits dispersed bubbly nature, and we will evaluate the overall steam quality at the outlet.

In this course, you will choose the Mixture Multiphase Model for the two-phase flow analysis with the Evaporation-Condensation (Lee Model) capturing the mass transfer process.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Set up and run Mixture and Evaporation-Condensation model in Ansys Fluent.
  • Create reports to monitor the solution progress and phasic mass balances.
  • Solve the case using appropriate solver settings.
  • Post-process and draw meaningful insights from the simulation results and data.

Prerequisites:

Basic understanding of:

  • Ansys Fluent Multiphase Flow Modeling
  • Ansys Fluent Getting Started

Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2021R1 release.
