This tutorial demonstrates the end-to-end workflow of using Ansys Fluent® fluid simulation software GPU solver to model the transient, turbulent (scale resolving), multispecies heat transfer problem representing the injection of a cryogenic gas in a general set up. The geometry, process conditions, material properties are generic. Emphasis is on the simulation process in terms of set up and post-processing.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this tutorial, you will be able to:

  • Set up a transient, multispecies case in the Ansys Fluent GPU solver, from geometry import through boundary and material definition.
  • Configure scale-resolving turbulence models appropriate for cryogenic gas injection and understand when they outperform RANS.
  • Define species transport and heat transfer physics for a cryogenic jet mixing into a warmer ambient stream.
  • Run and monitor a GPU-accelerated transient solution, selecting time step size, convergence criteria, and data sampling settings.
  • Post-process and interpret the results, extracting temperature, species concentration, and mixing behavior over time.

Prerequisites:

  • General familiarity with Ansys Fluent is software assumed.

Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2026R1 release.
