Some say over 1.1 billion devices will be connected by 2025. 5G is characterized by high speed, high bandwidth and lower latency. With its new generation of technologies, 5G requires high performing antennas. Ansys digital twin provides the necessary tools to design these antennas. We will use Ansys HFSS for electromagnetic simulation in this series of lectures. Each course in this learning track consists of an introduction, simulation steps and a workshop. You will start with learning the basic concepts relevant to the designing of antennas and arrays using different techniques in Ansys HFSS. We will use the different types of antennas to create an antenna array. You will get detailed information about the 5G dual polarized cross dipole antenna. In addition to this, you will be provided with more details about the 3D component and antenna toolkit (ATK) inside Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT). You will learn how to create a mast platform geometry and its effects on the installed antenna radiation pattern. You will also learn the system level simulation with HFSS SBR+ and study the interaction of the reflected radiated fields. We will introduce the EMIT Datalink for system link analysis. To analyze the thermal profile and heat flow of the antenna model we will use the HFSS-Icepak simulation and provide a detailed electrothermal simulation workflow.
Each course consists of 1 theory-based quiz and 1 simulation-based quiz. The theory quiz is to be completed in 20 mins. and the simulation quiz doesn't have a time limit. Pass criterion for these quizzes is 75 %. You have got up to 5 attempts to pass each quiz. Both theory and simulation quizzes are based on lecture videos and workshops in this learning track.​​
