The tutorial shows how parallel calculations in Ansys Motor-CAD® dedicated electric motor design tool for multiphysics simulation can be run through external scripts in Python or MATLAB. If possible, it is recommended to use Python, as the structure of the multiprocessing functions allows the parallel calculations to be run more efficiently and the work scheduling, queuing and sorting of the results is automatically handled. The simulation files having Python example will use PyMotorCAD communication, and the MATLAB example will use PyMotorCAD indirectly through Python.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this workshop, you will be able to:

    • Learn how to execute parallel Ansys Motor-CAD software calculations using external Python and MATLAB scripts.
    • Understand the advantages of Python multiprocessing for efficient task scheduling, queuing, and result management in Ansys Motor-CAD workflows.
    • Gain hands-on knowledge of using PyMotorCAD for direct Python integration and indirect MATLAB-based automation.

Prerequisites:

    • Getting Started with Ansys Motor-CAD Software
