Simulation of Flow through a Closing Gate Valve using Ansys Fluent (Workshop)

This workshop will demonstrate how to set up and run a 3D simulation of a flow in a pipe and see how fluid flows through the closing gate valve.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this workshop, you will be able to: 

• Define the fluid domain and material properties.
• Create named expressions to define the motion of the gate valve.
• Set up moving mesh for motion of the gate valve.
• Set up boundary conditions and other simulation parameters.
• Create scene and animations for better visualization of the process.
• Solve the case using appropriate solver settings.
• Post-process and analyze results to understand how the fluid flows through the closing gate vale.
