SKU: PL-OP-00004 Categories: , Tag:

This tutorial demonstrates how to model the human eye, design a multifocal contact lens for presbyopia correction, and analyze its performance in a realistic environment using the eye model. The contact lens is optimized with Ansys Zemax OpticStudio® optical system design and analysis software to balance vision quality between near, intermediate, and far object distances, then the model is exported to Ansys Speos® CAD integrated optical and lighting simulation software for a full system-level analysis and visualization, including intraocular scattering present in aging eyes.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Model the unaccommodated human eye based on real-world measured data.
  • Design multifocal simultaneous imaging contact lens for presbyopia correction.
  • Analyze and visualize the contact lens performance in a realistic scenario.
  • Evaluate the effect of intraocular scattering on vision quality.

Prerequisites:

Please complete the following courses before starting:

  • Fundamentals of Optics
  • Optical System Design using Ansys Zemax OpticStudio Software

Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2023R2 release.

  • Cost:
