width= width=This course covers the comprehensive study of waveform analysis and multi-dimensional signaling. It begins with the exploration of quadrature carriers and information bearing signals, delving into various types of modulation such as memory less modulation and with memory modulation. For instance, the course discusses Pulse Amplitude Modulation and non-Linear Modulation, illustrating how increasing the symbol duration impacts bandwidth and spectral efficiency. The course then transitions into multi-dimension signaling and M-ary-frequency shift keying. The second part of the course focuses on multi-dimensional signaling, a crucial aspect for waveforms in IMT-Advanced or the fourth generation system. It explains the concept of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and its significance in improving data rate by sending all signals simultaneously.

This course has been developed by prof. Suvra Sekhar Das from IIT Kharagpur for NPTEL. It is now accessible through Ansys Innovation Space courtesy of the partnership between Ansys and NPTEL, under the CC BY-SA license. For more details, visit https://nptel.ac.in/courses/108105134.
