Structural instability is a phenomenon where a structure deforms a lot while the external force increases by a small amount. In this Ansys Innovation Course on “Structural Instabilitiesâ€, we will present a focused discussion on two categories of structural instability: dynamic instability and buckling. We will introduce the cause of these instabilities and their corresponding examples in engineering. We will also study methods of analyzing buckling and approaches to remediate instabilities. Following that, we will reinforce the understanding of these theories and their physical meaning through some practical examples. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to use this information to distinguish structural instabilities and to resolve them by changing design.
A course completion badge allows you to showcase your success. We partner with Credly’s Acclaim platform, and digital badges can be used in email signatures, digital resumes and social media sites. The digital image contains verified metadata that describes your participation in our course and the topics and skills that were covered. This badge is for successfully completing the Structural Instabilities course.
