Why does a .cas file that runs in Fluent Workbench fail to run when I extract it and run in Fluent stand alone mode?

Workbench keeps two versions of the .cas file. One setup corresponds to the most recent version of the settings saved from the Setup cell; the other corresponds to changes made and saved from the Solution cell during the solution process. These files will have different time stamps and will also differ if changes were made during solution. 1. When extracting a .cas file from Workbench for standalone mode, the first check is to make sure you extract the .cas file with the most recent time stamp. 2. If changes were made during solution with the “Use settings changes for current calculation only” option instead of the “Use settings changes for current and future calculations”, the newer .cas file may still fail to correspond to the Fluent Workench setup that produced the latest .dat file. (The significance of the “Use settings changes for current calculation only” option is that it allows the solution to proceed but will not save the corresponding settings.) It is therefore possible for the .cas file that is stored in Workbench to represent an earlier, unsuccessful setup. If this is the case, it will not run in standalone Fluent either.
