The Ansys Innovation Space website recently experienced a database corruption issue. While service has been restored there appears to have been some data loss from November 13. We are still investigating and apologize for any issues our users may have as a result.

Unable to save project: Access to the path is denied. Error message is “Access to the path “X:….” is denied”.

      This issue was there in ANSYS Workbench 14.5.x and resolved in next release. ** If this issue is faced in other ANSYS versions, same solutions can be used.** Here is a workaround that should allow the saving of the project: 1. Ensure all component windows (Mechanical, FEModeler, DesignModeler, etc.) are closed and that only the main Workbench window is open 2. Open a task manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) 3. Switch to the ‘Processes’ tab 4. Look for ‘AnsysWBU.exe’ process 5. Be sure they are not associated with an active instance of a Workbench component (see step 1) 6. Right-click on the process/processes and choose ‘End Process’ 7. Go back to Workbench and attempt to save your project 8: No attempt should be made to end any processes named ansysfww.exe
