      In Spaceclaim, multiple surfaces, each with a different thickness, can be combined into one surface by using the Stitch command. When this surface is taken into Mechanical, it gets assigned a Face Thickness object per each different thickness present on this surface. The mass property calculation only takes one of these thicknesses into consideration, not all, and so does not provide an accurate mass value.
