We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

I have an initial analysis for which I get a deformed shape. I want to do a subsequent analysis using this deformed shape with some other added bodies. After converting the deformed mesh into a geometry I’m struggling to remesh it in my subsequent multiple body analysis. Is there a way around this?

The inherent issue is that the technology behind the conversion of a mesh back to a geometry file is still quite young so the final geometry can be of poor quality. There is a way around this by avoiding the export to mesh – convert back to CAD – and remesh altogether by not exporting the deformed shape at all. See attached image. System A has the original geometry you deform. System B has any bodies that you want to add to the subsequent simulation. System C is where you do more deformation of the already deformed shape. This way the deformed shape does not need to be converted back to a geometry and does not need another mesh (deformed mesh is used).
