      The first diagnostic tool is to look at the Forte .log file in the Nominal directory for the run. This will usually tell you where the run is hung up. One common problem is for a run to fail during the initial meshing stages because the Material Point falls outside of the solution domain on the initial crank angle. Barring any other errors in the setup, shifting the Material Point to a better location usually allows the simulation to run and complete normally.
