      Some geometries have extruded parts that can benefit from extruding a surface mesh in one direction instead of volume filling. Since 2021R1 it is possible in Fluent Meshing Watertight Workflow to add an Extrude Volume Mesh task to extend the domain. Since 2021R2 an option is available as beta to extrude between two identical surfaces. Please look at the PDF file attached for more information.
