In Fluent Meshing, there is an option to change a surface mesh made with a rectangular mesh into one made of a triangular mesh. The following steps are done in the GUI:
1. Go to Boundary > Mesh > Triangulate
2. The Triangulate Zones panel opens
3. In Boundary Zones, the area created by the rectangular mesh is displayed. Select all the areas you want to convert to triangles and click Apply
The above process makes the rectangular surface mesh a triangular surface mesh.
