This video demonstrates how to perform post processing on the solution and come up with an improved design of the IGBT half bridge inverter module. The video begins by showing how to create temperature plots and current density plots in ANSYS Icepak and ANSYS Q3D Extractor respectively. The simulations predict that the overall temperatures of the entire power module are within safe operating limits. The video also shows what-if experiments to improve the designs. Changes are made to the geometry and additional simulations are performed to make the power converter design more robust resulting in further temperature reduction and greater safety margin. Simulations are also performed by changing the ambient temperatures. All of these simulations help to increase the reliability of the power converter module.
