In this knowledge article we will go over the new clip feature in Discovery 2024R2 release. There are two ways you can clip a geometry in Discovery.

• Clip by Plane: In this video, we will go over the new clip feature introduced in the 2024 R2 release, focusing specifically on clip by plane. Demonstrating through practical examples, we’ll explore how to effectively use plane clipping to manipulate and visualize 3D geometries in your designs. Learn how to apply and combine multiple clip planes to segment and extract specific sections of your model.

• Clip by Volume: In this video, we will go over the clip feature with volumes—spheres and cubes—in your 3D design environment. We will see how to interactively define and manipulate clipping areas, also define with XYZ coordinates, and extract segmented geometries for further simulations and analyses.
