Q: We have Chemkin successfully installed. I am trying to work through a tutorial manual that makes use of example projects. However, all the example project files that were downloaded with the software are .cks files, while the software will only accept .ckprj files. I tried to locate these latter files online but have not been able to locate them. Where can I find the Chemkin sample .ckprj files?

A: The Chemkin tutorial project files come as part of the installation. If you do a search for .ckprj in the root installation folder, you should get a the location of the .ckprj files. (Not all tutorials may not all have one.) Typically, the returned location will be C:Program FilesANSYS Incv182reactionchemkinpro.win64samples( on Windows machines). There are subfolders in this directory containing the tutorial input files; the project files ( .ckprj ) are in the main directory. To work with these files, it is best to make your own copy in a new location. You can then edit the Chemkin Preferences to point to this new location as the working folder – see attached screenshot. Chemkin will ask you to shut down to have these new preferences take effect
