SubscriberI want to read the file (experimental results) and compare with the simulation results on XY-plot in the same window using text user interface TUI.Â
1) For reading the file i use /plot/file/file-name. It plots the graph but it doesn't load the file in the FILE DATA section of XY plots.
2) For plotting XY-plot of the simualtion, i want to create an animation. For that I useÂ
/display/open-window/2
/plot/solution/total-temperature
;; node values? [yes]Â
yes
;; zone id/name(1) [()]Â
()
;; surface id/name(1) [2]
axis-2
;; surface id/name(2) [()]Â
()
/display/set-window 2
Â
/solve/animate/define/define-monitor "sequence-1" 2 yes no 10 xy-plot ppm "./anim/"Â
Â
BUT it doesnt select the surface "surface id/name(1) [2] ". the animation is created but it plots something else (pic attached)
What am I missing?

Ansys EmployeeYou gave empty zone id while using plot. Please try giving zone id.Â
Can you please try it once through GUI to make sure that it plots and create animation.Â

SubscriberDear kkanade,
The problem still persists. Animation is created but wrong animation is created. It doesnt happen with contours, but only with xy plots.Â
Also, if you can please tell if there is a way from TEXT USER INTERFACE to load a file in "Solution xy plot" section "file data"

Ansys EmployeeYou are using correct TUI for animation.Â
Please check the path for animation.
Also make sure you can plot those plots using GUI.Â

Keyur

SubscriberI double checked everything. Its just doesn't work with XY-plots. Finally, I had to write journal file using GUI which works.

Forum ModeratorTry putting "axis-2"Â some of the commands need the quote marks.Â

SubscriberYup I did. The error is "> invalid command ["axis-2"]".
without quotation marks, no error.
