SubscriberHello,
I am solving transient porous medium fluid flow case in fluent. My geometry is a 2-D rectangle and I have 3000 timesteps. I write the report files for mass flow rate at the inlet and outlet at each time step in .OUT file. It was working fine till a certain mesh size. Then I refined the mesh. The simulations are still running and the data files are saved but after 1634 timesteps, the file stopped recording. I am not understanding if this is some size issue. Can you please help me.

Forum ModeratorI'm not aware of a limit, if you check the file has it been updated or has Fluent completely finished with it? Note, if you stop & restart a calculation you may get an option to append the file, did you see any pop-ups?

SubscriberI checked after 2300 timesteps when the simulation was still running but fluent has stopped updating .OUT file after 1634 timesteps. Usually fluent updates the file after each timestep.
I remember getting pop-up to create a new file once when I had restarted the calculations. But did not do anything like that now.

Forum ModeratorPlease try in the current release, R19.x is now fairly old, we're currently using 2023R2
