SubscriberI am trying to understand what I am doing wrong in using Workbench. Recently I've started to be reacquainted with Ansys and I got a small glitch in the process. For some unknown reasons, for me at least, I am not able to keep the model geometry that I have generated in Space Claim inside the Workbench module. Any suggestion?

SubscriberDid you use the Share button in SpaceClaim to use Shared Topology.
ANSYS Help says that when you use Shared Topology, all the bodies must be in the same part and it will do that to bring the bodies into Mechanical.

SubscriberDear both thank you very much for your outstanding help. As I said, it was a long time ago when I've done a simulation using Ansys (approx. 7 years, version 14.0). Since then a lot have changed and my knowledge faided.
When I was importing the structure in workbench, I forgot to press the button share. That's why there was the "mistake". I've used your advice and everything is alright now.
I have one more question though.
Before exporting the model, do I need to press "share" from the menu "Workbench"?
If I am not doing it, when I try to mesh I got an error: "The quad Mesher failed on one or more faces"
If I use the but0on "share" from workbench menu there is no error in the mesh, the geometry tree looks like the photo in my question and the mesh quality is this:
The problem was that I made the model in Autocad, since using spaceclaim would have taken me forever to do it, due to my long pause in using it actively. I have exported the model as Iges, imported in spaceclaim and I have fixed the minor problems with the elements.
What do I need to do, in order to get a correct mesh that will not get me in trouble with the calculation?
Sorry if my text is not clear enough. Is late, tired of stress...
Warm regards L.
