why element quality decrease after applying sphere of influence

  Any idea why the element quality will decrease after applying sphere of influence?

  Histogram appears similar between the two. You can click on the bar to see the elements with that quality range. See if that looks similar or see if you can spot the difference.
  Also details on Mesh should list the min quality. See how that compares
  It is possible that there is a sudden jump in mesh size that could cause lower quality. You can reduce the growth rate to improve mesh quality
