SubscriberHi Geeks, I hope you all are fine.
I machined 3d sph workpiece domain with a 3d solid tool inside LS-DYNA and it worked pretty well but I was interested in converting the machining scenario to 2d for obvious reasons ("the popular" plane strain). So I made 2d sph workpiece domain and 2d shell tool but I'm having very hard time in setting contact for such simulation. I tried 2d automatic nodes to surface and 2d automatic surface to surface as hit and trial and offcourse it didn't work. May anyone help me in setting the contact for such simulation.
Thanks.

Ansys EmployeeHello, have you tried *CONTACT_2D_NODE_TO_SOLID? Please see the *CONTACT_2D section in the manual. I hope this helps.
