SubscriberDear all,
I am simulating a fluidized bed with transient multiphase, eulerian model. In order to have a well defined interfase region between the two phases I applied a refinement criterion in ANSYS-Fluent 2020R1 under the Adapt option:
Adpation Controls => Refinement Criterion => Expression Editor=> Variables => Adaption => AdaptionSpaceGradient(Volumefraction)

Forum ModeratorAdaption controls are in the Domain tab,
and you'll want a cell register to refine and possibly one to coarsen if you're using dynamic adaption. Some of the options changed in the last couple of versions but I think the useful ones are still there. I'd suggest refining on a volume fraction range or gradient and coarsening on the same variable but at a different value(s).

SubscriberYes. It works nicely when defining the Gradient of Volume Fraction in a new cell register and choosing it in the Refinement Criterion. There is no need for the AdaptionSpaceGradient variable.
Thanks Rob.
