What is the reason for the “bulging” of power capacitors?

Under the normal operation, the increase of the temperature of the power capacitor and the change of the surrounding environment will cause the shell to bulge with the increase in temperature. When obvious bulging or deformation occurs, the power capacitor should be stopped and replaced immediately.

I want to know the reason for this situation.

You can learn more detailed information about capacitors on Easybom to help you find the reason quickly.

The cause of this failure is the internal partial discharge, the decomposition of the insulating oil to produce a large amount of gas, and the increase of internal pressure.

From your post it is understood that this is not related to simulation tool. But, It is not clear what your actual concern is.
      Best regards.
