- Gap: the resulting gap.
Geometric Gap: the gap that initially exists between the Contact and Target surfaces. For Frictional or Frictionless contact, this is the minimum gap. For Bonded or No Separation contact, this is the maximum closed gap detected.

Subscriber Frictional, Rough and Frictionless contact can have an initial Offset defined in the Contact.
True Geometric Gap is the actual minimum distance between the surfaces, when there is an initial gap.
Gap = True Geometric Gap - Offset
True Geometric Penetration is the actual maximum interference between the surfaces, when there is an initial penetration.
Gap = | – Offset | - True Geometric Penetration
