what does the difference between safety factor shown below ?

what are the parameters in engineering data effect in it?

what does safety factor should I consider?

in fatigue tool, what does fully reversed mean?

The Stress Tool gives you choices for which Engineering Data to use in calculating the Safety Factor.

You can select either Yield or Ultimate tensile strength.

The Stress Tool Safety Factor is calculating if a single load will exceed one of these limits by the equation

Safety Factor = Tensile Ultimate/Max. Equivalent Stress

if you chose Tensile Ultimate as the Stress Limit Type.

Fatigue is all about load cycles. A load cycle can be zero-based, which means a cycle consists of applying the load and removing the load and therefore there is a mean stress. A load cycle can be fully reversed, which means a cycle consists of applying the load in the positive direction and the negative direction and therefore the mean stress is zero.

The Fatigue Tool can use one of two items in Engineering Data. If you set the Analysis Type to Stress Life, then it is using the S-N Curve in Engineering Data. If you set the Analysis Type to Strain Life, then it is using the Strain-Life Parameters in Engineering Data.

The Fatigue Tool Safety Factor is calculated as described in the ANSYS Help section on the Fatigue Tool.
