SubscriberI have created (in ICEM itself) 2 squares connected by a curve in the middle (Which is red in color after the topology is built).
i) Are these 2 square surfaces separate 'Patches'?
I meshed them with Patche Dependent and Patch Independent methods. Both methods respected the middle curve separating the 2 squares and gave a conformal mesh.
I deleted (not permanently) the middle curve ( so its dormant) and again meshed with Patche Dependent and Patch Independent methods. This time both methods did not respect the middle dormant curve. I had expected the Patch Dependendent method to respect the middle dormant curve since I thought the 2 squares are separate patches. But that was not the case.
So my question is what are 'Patches' and how are they different from 'surfaces'.

Ansys EmployeeHello,
Just to confirm, you are using ICEM right?

SubscriberYes I am using ICEM. But the question is general since patch-dependent and independent methods are used in other Ansys products too.

SubscriberI am shifting this to preprocessing page.
