SubscriberI 'm meshing horizontal 2D wellbore 6" with 2 KM depth and length as per attachment. The wellbore geometry was generated by spaceClaim Model. When I generated meshing using "sizing" method in mesh workbench, the error occurring as per attached figure, I believe this is caused by very slim wellbore (6" thickness with 2M length). Could you advice the correct method to mesh a very slim pipe/wellbore? Thanks a lot for your help.

Forum ModeratorDecreasing the defeature should fix it. You may need to break the model into a few cell zones as the facet count on one surface may become excessive.

SubscriberHi Rob Thank you for your feedback which is very helpful. It worked by decreasing the defeaturing size. Then I break the model into 3 cell zones then meshing them respectively through "edge sizing" and work well.
However, when I use "multiZone method" to combine all 3 zones the mesher failed to generate the whole body meshes as per attached screen shot. is my method correct?
Thanks a lot

Forum ModeratorIt's 2d so don't bother with mutlizone and leave the face meshing for the software to figure out. As an aside, staff are not permitted to open attachments so please add the image inline with the text.
