Subscriberi am doing harmonic analysis of a structure having time varying load (voltage),and i did it, now i want to add water tank on this structure to check the behavior of the fluid , this water tank does not have any inlet outlet velocity , that mean inlet and outlet are closed, but have a free surface, please suggest which analysis i will do?

AdministratorHello You should be able to set up your problem as a Multiphase simulation in Ansys Fluent. You will need to use the System Coupling to transfer your loads from your Harmonic analysis to Ansys Fluent. I think you will apply these loads to the walls of your tank. This would be the pressure that would be applied to the Fluid, which will move the interface (which is estimated by, say, the VoF model).
Please look into this link to find some tutorials on 'System Coupling'.

What behavior of the fluid are you interested in examining? Are you interested in looking at generated pressure (acoustic) waves from the structure? You mentioned no inlet/outlet, so if this is a water tank, what kind of behavior of the fluid are you hoping to investigate?
If you are interested in acoustic waves in the water tank, you can perform a vibroacoustic analysis. In Mechanical, for example, this could be done with a "Harmonic Acoustic" system to define the fluid (acoustic) and structural portions.

Subscriberok sorry i did not mention in the above query
there is a free liquid surface and i wanna to check the waves generated in the surface

Subscriberi wanna see what will be the behavior of the free surface of water

In Mechanical, you can solve a vibroacoustic analysis (Harmonic Acoustic) and define a Free Surface object to accomplish what you are seeking.
