SubscriberHello, I am looking to understand how including viscoelasticity in a material model affects the total solve speed when compared to just a pure linear elastic model.  basically, how does adding the prony series affect the solve speed.
I am looking for the equation in the documentation if this exists inside the Ansys or LS-Dyna docs.Â

Ansys EmployeeHello,
Adding prony series might increase the solve time as this includes a non-linearity in the model. For equations on Prony series you can check the Ansys help documentation:
Ansys help > Mechanical APDL > Material Reference > 4.8. Viscoelasticity.
Regards.
