vibro-acoustic simulation

      Hello!

I am trying to perfom an acoustic simulation using a composite shell model.

Can anybody help with a guide?

Is it possible to create an enclosure of a surface using spaceclaim?

I'm trying to create but it shows an error " the selected body could not be subtracted from the enclosure body "

      Hi

Likely what you have is a shell/surface with acoustic domain on both sides. Unfortunetaly we can not have an acoustic domain on both sides of a shell/surface body.

Try using a solid body where this is not an issue (as 3D solid has a 3D thickness we can have an acoustic domain all around it).

      All the best

      Erik

        I forgot to mention you.

      Thanks for you answer Erik.

I'm working with a composite shell/surface that I need to put into ANSYS ACP and, if I use a solid body, it will be impossible to open ANSYS ACP, because ACP only works with shell elements.

      Am I wrong?

Is there any other way to perform the vibration/acoustics of a shell composite?

Think you can have solids for ACP – as I do not use this I can not help much more – perhaps some other forum members can help out.

When I try to mesh a solid model and open Ansys ACP setup, I get that message error.

      Hi

As I said I do not use this (ACP), so I can not help much more with ACP. Perhaps some other forum members can help out.

      Erik
