SubscriberHi everyone, has anyone used CFD-Coupled particle drying module in Rocky ansys? I'm trying to simulate the drying process of wheat grains using this modules. This is too vague and my results are too far from the experimental data. Please let me know if you have done any simulation with this module. This is very Urgent. All the best.Â

Forum ModeratorStaff have used the module, but "this is too vague" isn't overly diagnostic. How well converged are the two parts of the simulation, and how are your results differing from the experiment? I assume you've also checked that the experiment is what you're actually modelling and that the data is accurate?Â

The problem is that my grain has 30% moisture content (wet base) and the value that I should use for this in the module is a bit vague for me.Â
For example, in this case, the Solute density (means the grain's density? which is 1350 kg/m3 in my case?) and the solute mass fraction would be 0.70 in this case as the liquid fraction (0.3) then the solute mass fraction would be 0.70 in this scenario? When I use this and put the inlet moisture content of the grain in inlet particle section on 0.30 the moisture content drops from 0.3 to 0.05 more or less in less than 1 second. I don't know why it happens very quickly.Â
I will be happy to know the reason and if you have any tutorial for drying process of any type.Â

The solute density is the density of the solid dissolved in the liquid around particles. The solute mass fraction is the ratio mass of solute to the liquid solution mass. As the liquid evaporates, the equivalent solute mass will be added to the particle mass and the particle volume will be updated accordingly. The moisture content is defined during the particle injection setup.
