Very small velocity in multi-phase analysis

      Hi everybody,

I am trying to perform a multiphase problem but encounter some errors. Hope everyone can help me.

Description: Problem has two phases (water and gas) and boundary conditions as shown below

      Set up the solver

      Phase distribution

Result: velocity at the end of the water phase is very small (0.02m/s) compared to other regions.

Question: Is my setting so suitable? Is there a way to fix this phenomenon?

      Thanks

Can you check your materials (densities). It looks like you have high re-circulation.

Is it an open channel flow case? You can use the open channel flow which could help you setting up a good initial field and pressure boundary.

You've activated gravity in the -ve Y direction (UP based on your figure) and water would tend to go in the -ve Y direction (again UP based on your figure) due to gravity. That is the reason why you're getting very low velocities at the outlet.

      Thank your for your help.

I tried with Deactivate gravity but result not good.

      Thank your for your reply.

I used the material with all properties default in Fluent.

I'll try with Open Chanel flow and tell you if have results.

      Hi abenhadj,

I tried with Open Channel Flow and here is result: https://youtu.be/6nleab2D6sc
