Subscriberwe working on the crack initiation in gear, we have rpm on one mating gear and another has moment, we know both the values but the problem is arising in calculating the load acting at the location of actual contact, in the given figure -1 we need "P", we have formula for half contact width and maximum stress , we need load per unit length or total load for calculation. for that, we divided the moment by pitch circle radius to get the force but the results were not matching. we know stress variation along the depth from the gear tooth surface, the maximum stress is going to be at some depth from the surface and that is the spot where most likely the crack is going to initiate. just we need the value of load at the actual point of contact of gear teeth.
all the figures are for better understanding we need the load at the point of gear meshing.
