      Hi everyone,

      I am doing my M.tech thesis.

      I am using ansys workbench to model masonry prism. I  need to get the crack pattern So i used SOLID 65 element as command. But it didn't work. can anyone help me in solving this. The command i used is attached with this.

      Please help me. I'm new to this software.

      You need to provide more info. What does not work?

      So describe in more details what does not work, and feel free to share the whole model so someone can have a look.

      I have found several errors in your commands !Properties of mortar, you must make these changes:

      ET,1,SOLID65 --> ET,2,SOLID65

      MPTEMP,2,0 --> MPTEMP,1,0

      TBDATA,2,0.2,0.5,0.35,35 --> TBDATA,1,0.2,0.5,0.35,35

      You can search each of these commands in the help of ansys to understand it.

      Also if all the analysis is at the same temperature I would suppress the commands.

      Ok, to solve Poisson's ratio problems I would change MP,PRXY by MP,NUXY. Have you tried to supress all temperature commands?

      Hi i don't know how to suppress all temperature commands. Here i'm attaching the file with this. Kindly see it.

      Ok, I have seen other problems. The "masonry 1" is the material 1, the "mortar 1" is the material 2, the "mansonry 2" is the material 3, etc. You should change the number of materials. But is easyer do this:

      for all masonry:

      !masonry

      ET,matid,SOLID65

      R,1,0,0,0,0,0,0

      RMORE,0,0,0,0,0

      MP,EX,matid,14538.46154

      MP,NUXY,matid,0.18

      TB,CONCR,matid,1,9

      TBDATA,1,0.2,0.5,0.71,7.88

      ! Shear transfer coefficients for a closed crack.

      !Uniaxial tensile cracking stress.

      !Uniaxial crushing stress (positive).

      OK thank you for your help. Let me try it.

      Hi i had given the corrections in command. It worked. But it is taking the default material property (structural steel) along with the defined material properties. I suppressed it in the engineering data option . but while doing so it is not working.

      How can i rectify it?

      Please help me..

      You can define a new material named "masonry" and "mortar" in the engineering data, and enter the density and elastic properties.

      Hi thank you. It is taking SOLID 65  as element type. But showing errors.

       Hi

      Thank you. Let me check it.

      I guess the reason is that you have multiple concrete bodies under one part then you copy the same command on every part of the bodies. That happened to me before.

      Just remove the other MPTEMP,2,0 on other bodies. It should work
