Use of symmetry boundaries for symmetric power dividers/combiners

I was wondering if it is possible to simulate a 1to2 splitter (like the one in the image) with a symmetry boundary (H-plane), thus modelling only half of the structure. The symmetry boundary would be located where the dashed line has been drawn. The problem that I am finding is that the same port multiplier applies to all the ports. However, the input port captures half of the power when the symmetry boundary is included, whereas the two output ports capture all the power of the incoming signal. Is it possible to specify the port multiplier separately for each port? If not, is there a way to post-process the S-parameter results to adjust the impedance multiplier of each port appropriately?

      Which solver are you using?

I am using Modal Network Analysis

      Hi Roger,

The best option is not using the symmetry when the multiplier does not apply to all the ports. If you use it, then interpreting the S parameters is not straightforward. If you have access to customer portal, file a support case so you can discuss this further with one of our engineers.
