SubscriberIn particle reaction rate calculations, do I need to update the gas species fractions (such as Hâ‚‚ and Hâ‚‚O) in the UDF? While the mass fractions of solid species change, those of Hâ‚‚ and Hâ‚‚O doesn't change. I'm calculating the reaction rate for hematite reduction with hydrogen. If the gas fractions need to be updated, should I define a new macro like
DEFINE_SOURCE
or use a different approach? -

Forum ModeratorIn theory Fluent should handle that unless you're doing something odd with the UDF.Â

SubscriberWhat about particle components? I am using TP_COMPONENT_I(tp, i) to get the mass fraction of hematite and iron in my particle. Do I need to update them by calculating reduced hematite and produced iron based on reaction rate *rr?

Forum ModeratorThese should also be accounted for in the reactions. Ie the rate will determine how quickly something is used up, and the solver will track how much is left.Â
