Hello
I have set up a new VM and entered the Elastic Licensing ID and pin for all configurations (ID:PIN).
Starting any ANSYS app i get the error:
"Unknown Laas data error: Laas returned error (300)"
I checked the Licensing Settings and Elastic Licensing was off
I activate it, import the json-File and saved.
But the error persists
Shared and FlexNet-Licences are disabled.
What is going wrong?
Best

Hi Kai-Uwe,
Which Ansys software version are you trying to use on Ansys Gateway, and on which platform Windows/Linux?
Here is a short guide on how to setup elastic licensing using the Ansys License client tool. ((1) Configuring Elastic Licensing using the Client Settings Utility - YouTube)
If the error persists please open a support request and provide us the diagnostic zip file (as described on the above link)
You can also revise who has access to configure the elastic settings you will want to look at the Licensing Portal Access page (https://licensing.ansys.com/index.html#/portalaccess)
Thank you,
Nikos Nikoloutsakos

January 23, 2024 at 10:55 amNikos NikoloutsakosAnsys EmployeeOne more thing to review, is the allowable IP addresses to access Elastic licensing and currently defined rules.
Once you login on the Ansys Licensing Portal , please review IP addresses list.ÂGo to "Settings" -> "Elastic IP Settings" and review the allowed IP addresses. If there are no rules defined, Elastic Licensing will accept traffic from any address.ÂPlease confirm that there is no private ranges defined. To determine the public IP of your Ansys Gateway instance, navigate to AnsysGateway dashboard, and check the VDI settings. This public IP might changes after reboot, depends to the AWS configuration for your account.ÂThank youÂ

Finally you can validate that the system environment variables are set correctly to match the License settings file.
The default installation path should be found here: ("C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\licensing\ansyslmd.ini")
For the Elastic Licensing please review the environment variable: ANSYS_ELASTIC_CLS
e.g if using Windows command prompt you can print the variable:
echo %ANSYS_ELASTIC_CLS%
