SubscriberHi, I'm simulating a bend waveguide, I wish to sweep the simulation for different radii value, however, I'm unable to do that as I get the following error: 'The results from individual simulations are of different sizes and could not be saved.' WHy could this be?Â

I have placed the monitors and mode source in such a way that it will still be able to cover the region when the radius changes. What could be the reason?
 My simulation setup isÂ

Thank you. Any info would be helpful

Ansys EmployeeThis is due to the fact that when the object dimension changes the mesh will change. So if you monitor the field quantities then the matrix will change. To aovid this, you can use an override region to cover the largest region for your sweep.
One note: usually it is not necessary to extract the near field spatial distribution. for a waveguide, you may need to monitor other quantities such as neff or transmission/reflection.Â

SubscriberThank you very much. But if I add mesh override region to the simulation, wont it increase the simulation time by many time?Â
Also, I was trying to extract the power (P) at the end of the waveguide with the help of a monitor. This is so that so I have input and output power so I can calculate the propogation lossÂ

Ansys EmployeeNot necessarily. You can use proper mesh size , eg, the auto mesh size on the waveguide, which only increase a little of the memory with increase of the geometry, and it is necessary. However once the mesh is fixed the monitor will have fixed data dimension which will avoid the issue you currently face.
You can use the ruler on the left toolbar to roughly measure the mesh size on the waveguide.
