Unable to select a cylinder in an imported geometry (from Solidworks)

Hi, I've just started learning ANSYS for simulation purposes. I'm experienced in Solidworks, so I imported a part from Solidworks using an .IGS file.

After applying the meshing, I proceeded to apply the loads, and that's where the problems began. I decided to apply a bearing load and two cylindrical supports. To do this, I need to select cylindrical surfaces. These surfaces are present in my imported model.

However, both ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Design Modeler recognize the holes as two half-cylinders instead of cylinders. As a result, in ANSYS Mechanical, I am unable to select these holes as the geometry for the bearing load and cylindrical supports.

I tried merging two of these half-cylinders in Design Modeler, which visually solved the problem. However, I still couldn't select these surfaces for load application.

Thank you in advance for your help. Cheers!

      1. IGES is a poor choice for moving solid models from SolidWorks to Ansys.  Use Parasolid instead.
      2. Open the geometry in SpaceClaim and on the Repair tab, click the Extra Edges button then the Split Edges button.  Try the Simplify button.

Thank you, using parasolid file type worked!
