Unable to run mpi jobs on a cluster

      Hello,

We have Lumerical Academic license. I understand this allows us to use up to 128 distributed cores (4*32). I am currently trying out a problem using FDTD and every time I submit a job to the cluster, I get licensing error (details below). I have successfully run Lumerical FDTD on the same cluster via GUI. I would like to advise users to make use all licensed capabilities to solve a larger problem.

First trying out with a single core and single node:

      .../mpich2/nemesis/bin/mpiexec -n 1 fdtd-engine-mpich2nem -t 1 -fullinfo test_mpi_nano_scatter.fsp

Edited output (I have taken out site specific info. The message shows the right license path):

...(process 0): Failover feature 'Ansys Lumerical Enterprise Solver' is not available.

Request name lumerical_solve does not exist in the licensing pool.

      No such feature exists.

      Feature:    lumerical_solve

      License path: [email protected]<...>

FlexNet Licensing error:...(process 0): Error: Failed to checkout feature 'lumerical_solve'

Failover feature 'Ansys Lumerical Enterprise Solver' is not available.

      Thanks

Try to set the license server information on the cluster without the GUI as shown here.

Hello Ok, we were already setting the ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE variable when we loaded the Lumerical module. I found out that I had a License.ini file with the wrong domain number (0 instead of 2).
The hint came from the reference to Ansys Enterprise solver in the error message!
BTW, the page you reference also says License.ini settings take precedence over ANSYL_LICENSE_FILE variable. It was clearly a mistake on my part.
      Thanks again for your help.
