We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

Unable to apply Amperage in Steady State Electrical Conduction

I am working on a research project, and I am currently trying to conduct an analysis simple geometry (rectangular block) to gather the necesscary boundary conditions I need to for my actual model. This is my first time using the electrical analysis system in Ansys workbench, and I am unable to apply current through my model without resulting in the error below. I haven't been able to find any tutorials or useful information online regarding this issue. I was able to get the simulation to converge, but I had to have an applied voltage and current in the "negative" direction. The research papers I am basing my boundary conditions on (for the acutal model) only mention inputting current for a certain period of time.

A solver pivot warning or error has been detected in the VOLT degree of freedom of node 28 located in Solid. This is usually a result of an ill conditioned matrix possibly due to unreasonable material properties, an under constrained model, or contact related issues.  Check results carefully. You may select the offending object and/or geometry via RMB on this warning in the Messages window.
