We were switched from Network floating licenses to named user specific web licenses. After installing SpaceClaim 2024 R1 it is prompting us for a license file or server but we are unable to figure out how to clear this and provide sign in information for our user accounts. Our accounts are assigned the licenses but we cannot figure out how to connect SpaceClaim to these licenses. There is a document which mentions a LicensingSettings.exe but that is no where to be found on our machines after installing SpaceClaim.

Can you share your account no. and verify the details under ansyslmd.ini "C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing" it should be,

ANSYS_LICENSING_SHARED_WEB=1
ANSYS_LICENSING_WEB=1
ANSYS_LICENSING_SERVICE_PRIORITY=web-shared,fnp,web-elastic

Hello, that location does not exist on my machine. We only have SpaceClaim so all that has been installed from Anys is SpaceClaim 2024 R1. Is it ok to share my account number on a public forum?

t sounds like SpaceClaim is still looking for a legacy network license instead of your new named-user web licenses. In SpaceClaim 2024 R1, licensing is handled through Ansys Licensing Client rather than a license file or server. You’ll need to open the Ansys Licensing Client (installed with SpaceClaim), sign in with your Ansys account that has the assigned license, and ensure “Ansys Licensing Portal” is selected as the license source. If you don’t see LicensingSettings.exe, it has been replaced by this client. Once signed in, restart SpaceClaim and it should detect your user-based license automatically.
