Transient time table velocity and simulation time

      Hello everyone,

I am applying a transient velocity table as a velocity inlet. This table contains a 3600 value of velocity according to 3600 seconds (velocity table for 1 hour).

To simulate my case, I did the simulation as follows:

Number of time steps: 90000, size of time steps:0.1. This represents only 15 minutes of simulation. So, according to my understanding, ANSYS will simulate the first 15 minutes (9000 seconds) from the velocity inlet table, is this correct?

900s, yes, but it's 900s from when you start the run. So, if you initialise and run with no interruptions you'll be at 900s. If you initialise, run for 4500 steps, stop, then restart without initialising you'll be at 1350s.

Note, Fluent data files are snap shots of the result at that time step, so if you run for 900s without saving any data (Autosave is there for a reason) you'll not have any results for the period between starting & stopping.

      I see. Thanks, Rob.
