SubscriberDear ALL,
I have performed a transformer simulation with primary and secondary windings having the same number of turns, using an E-core. I calculated the leakage inductance considering two scenarios:
- Without a core gap – Leakage inductance: 26.5 µH
- With a 2 mm gap on all three legs – Leakage inductance: 22.9 µH
However, the results seem unrealistic. While the primary inductance significantly decreased from 2150 µH to 87.271 µH with the 2 mm gap, the leakage inductance remained almost unchanged.
Could you please help me verify and correctly calculate the leakage inductance?

Ansys EmployeeHi, I would like to know how the leakage inductance was calculated? Did you use coupling coefficient or short circuit test?
