When I'm using sample model of Topology Optimization, according to Objective Function, the results are come out strangely.

(Graphic card memory: 8GB)

 

If I used Maximize Stiffness + Reduce Percentage 5% Options, I got the reasonable results.

But, using Maximize Natural Frequency + Reduce Precetage 5% Options, the result is nonsensical, just like the image below;

I expected the results to be similar when using the option for Maximize Stiffness, as the Volume Reduction Percentage is consistently 5%. However, the actual outcome is completely different.

It doesn't seem like the results that set to 5% of volume reduction.

 

I wanna know the reason why and how can I get the similar results.

Which version of Discovery are you using? Can you please share the image of your optimization conditions used to reproduce this at my end?

Hello Devendra!

I used Discovery 2024R1 and Topology Optimization Sample Model(Bracket_Topo_Opt). 

I changed the options like below;

 

 

• Objective Function: Maximzie Stiffness -> Maximize Natrural Frequency
• Volume Reduction: 55% -> 5%

 

 

And all the rest of the settings were not changed.

In addition, it is also confirmed that the results vary from version to version, even though all settings are the same like pictures below;

I could send you the file for each discovery version, if you want.
