unable to find any tutorials online for the analysis related to "finding the resistance offered by a material" and to find the " dielectric break down strength of a material".

suggest me if there are any tutorials.

      Hi Sidhartha,

Thank you for reaching out to us and we appreciate your patience.

Kindly let us know which Ansys tool and the version that you are using to help us serve you better. Also, some information about your simulation model and the goal is greatly appreciated. Add category tags as well which can further help us provide response quickly.

      Best regards,
      Praneeth.

      Hello

      Praneeth,
      thank you for the response.

Regarding ” information about my simulation”

      Q 1

I have attached a picture of the model which consists of electrodes.
there is a gap i between the electrodes which is filled with polymer composite.
I want to find out the “dielectric break down strength”(voltage at which the material disintegrates)
      Q2

I also want to find the resistance offered by any material when it is placed in a cricuit.

      ”Ansys tools”

I have latest available student versions of ANSYS and ANSYS ELECTRICAL.

As per my research in internet

simulation to find the resistance is done with “electrical” in “ansys Work bench”

      and

simulation to find the dielectric break down strength is done in ANSYS MAXWELL

I AM NEW TO THESE TWO PLATFORMS.

green rod like structures are electrodes.

rest of the part in blue color polymer composite material.

        Hello,

Maxwell can simulate the E field and charge distribution. I think you have to find out the breakdown voltage of this material from data sheet, then use Maxwell to simulate your design model to see which location reaches this voltage first and decide what is the breakdown voltage for this design. Maxwell can also calculate the resistance of a conductor in your design.

        Regards,

        GLUO

      Hello,

      Thank you for the reply

I have never used Ansys Maxwell before. Can you please provide me tutorial sources or link where i can learn the Ansys Maxwell from.
