      Hi everyone,

Im trying to analyze a bolted union and i need to set de face but a yellowed part appears. What does thickness refer to? The diameter? The pitch?

Other cuestion is, if there is not nut do i need to aply pretension or can i set a different situation to apply compressive force

      Hi,
Looking at the screenshot, the tornillo_d8_L25.3\OuterThread geometry is a surface type germetry. Since the analysis is 3D, it is asking for the thickness of the shell elements that will be created for this geometry.
I think you may have to revisit the CAD model and see if this arrangement is exactly what you want.

You can apply pretension to a bolt without nut. Make sure that the threaded part of the bolt has proper connections with the clamp.

      I hope this helps.
